Travel & Logistics

  • What are the accommodations like?

You'll be staying in your own cozy, heated cabin—a perfect, private retreat at the end of a long day in the field. Inside, you'll find two comfortable beds ready for a great night's sleep. Think rustic charm with all the warmth you need. It's a short, easy walk to the main house, where you'll be joining us for home-cooked meals and have access to a full, indoor bathroom. Come on in and make yourself at home.

  • How do I get to camp?

Simply book your flight to the Williams Lake Regional Airport (YWL). Once you land, we'll be there to meet you and handle all ground transportation to and from the property. When your hunt is over, we'll ensure you're dropped off back at the airport in time for your departure.

  • Do you have wifi / cell phone service?

Connectivity is limited, but manageable. While on the property, you can use our Starlink Wi-Fi service right in your cabin. But once we leave, expect no cell phone or Wi-Fi reception for the rest of the day. Your guide will carry a satellite phone or messenger for necessary communication. If you have an InReach or similar satellite device, bring it along.

  • What about food and beverages?

We make sure you eat well! Katie is a fantastic cook and provides all your meals: a delicious, shared breakfast and dinner in the main house and a thoughtfully packed lunch for your day of hunting. We keep the coffee pot hot and stock plenty of tea and water for everyone. The only thing we don't supply is alcohol, so you'll need to bring that with you—but don't worry, we're happy to take you by the local liquor store to stock up. If you have any dietary restrictions, please let us know as soon as possible.

  • Can a non-hunter come with me?

Of course - contact us for more details on pricing and to discuss whether they’d like to accompany us out for the day, or explore Williams Lake and the surrounding area solo.

  • What if I want to stay in a hotel?

Sounds great! There are a number of hotels in Williams Lake. Just let us know you’d prefer to stay in a hotel, and we can pick you up every morning for your hunt.

Gear & Preparation

  • How physically demanding are your hunts?

That’s up to you. If you’re looking for a major physical challenge, we ofer demanding days of traversing and active stalking across varied terrain. If you prefer a lower impact approach, we can utilize our off-road vehicles for easy access to secluded areas and blinds, allowing for a more relaxed sit.

  • What gear should I bring?

Gear requirements can vary depending on the species and season, but being prepared for a range of weather and terrain is key in British Columbia.

For mountain lion, lynx, and winter wolf hunts, you’ll need warm, layered clothing, waterproof boots, gloves, and gaiters suited for snow and cold conditions. A good pair of snow pants or bibs and a windproof outer shell are recommended.

For spring and fall black bear hunts, focus on  breathable layers that can handle cool mornings and warmer afternoons. Waterproof boots and rain gear are essential, as spring weather can change quickly.

For moose and deer hunts, plan for longer days and varied conditions—from frost to mid-day sun. Durable, weather-resistant outerwear, good optics, and comfortable hiking boots are a must.

No matter the season, bring your personal essentials—rifle and ammunition you’re confident with (if you wish), a small daypack (we can provide if needed) binoculars, and any preferred calls or rangefinders. We’ll provide any specialized gear needed for your specific hunt and ensure you’re ready for the conditions ahead.

  • What is the terrain like?

Be ready for the elements! Our hunting area is characterized by rugged, mixed-timber topography with numerous creek bottoms and ridges that hold game well. By late season, the landscape is often transformed by deep snow.

Hunting FAQs

  • What are your typical shot distances?

Shot distances can vary greatly depending on the species and the hunting method. For bear, cougar, and lynx hunts, shots are typically close-range, as these animals are often treed by hounds, allowing hunters to take a safe and ethical shot from a short distance.

For moose, deer, and wolf hunts, expect to shoot at longer ranges. These animals are usually hunted through spot-and-stalk or stand setups, where open country or clear-cut areas may require shots ranging from 100 to 400 yards, depending on terrain and visibility.

Our guides will always help ensure you’re set up for a clean, confident shot at whatever distance the situation calls for.

  • Can I multi-hunt?

Absolutely. Many of our hunters add in a wolf hunt at the end of the cat hunt. We can also do a multi-cat hunt, or, if you’re hunting with us in the fall, we can try for a mule deer - or even add in a whitetail hunt for an extra challenge.

  • Can I borrow a firearm?

Certainly - we have a selection you can borrow if you’d prefer not to travel (or cross borders) with yours.

  • Do you support archery as well?

    Yes!
